About us

A South Florida IT partner who has been around the block.

Timent Technologies is an independent IT company serving businesses across Broward and Palm Beach counties. We've been part of the South Florida business community since 1994 — long enough to know which problems are urgent, which ones are about to be, and which ones quietly take care of themselves.

How we work

We don't operate as a so called MSP - managed service provider. What this means is that we charge no monthly fees and we require no contracts to be signed to serve you. Also with us there are no per-employee or per-computer fees, and no monthly invoices arriving if we did nothing for you throughout the month. You pay for the work we do — and when your systems are running smoothly and you don't need us, you won't hear from us and you won't get a bill.

What you will get is a team that becomes genuinely familiar with your business — your network, your people, your software, your workflows, and the things that matter most to your operation. When something goes wrong, you call us directly. Not a call center, not a help desk queue — us directly. The same people who set up your infrastructure and know exactly how it's supposed to run.

We also act as the bridge between you and any other technology vendors you work with — whether it's your industry-specific software provider, internet service provider, VoIP vendor, copier supplier, or camera and even access control partner . You don't have to manage multiple vendor relationships or translate between technical people and business needs. That's what we're here for.

Keeping an eye on things

No monthly contract doesn't mean we set things up, walk away, and wait for something to break.

With your permission, we add ourselves to the alerts and alarms your equipment already generates — firewalls, servers, network equipment, backups, power systems. If these notifications are not already configured, we take care of that as well and make sure you receive the same alerts as we do. These notifications could range from a minor update pending to imminent hardware failure, plus manufacturer notices about security fixes, firmware, and patches. Backup alerts matter especially: if a backup fails, gets missed, or reports a problem, you'll know right away, since finding out a backup hasn't been working after you need it is about the worst time to discover it.

When something comes to our attention, we'll let you know. Sometimes it's urgent, sometimes it's better handled after hours, and sometimes it's worth taking care of the next time we're already working on your systems. You shouldn't have to track every advisory or warning yourself — that's what we're here for, and there's no charge just for us to receive an alert and tell you about it.

If you or someone in your office is comfortable handling it, great — you're all set. If you'd rather we take care of it, just say the word. We'll coordinate with your staff, schedule the work to minimize disruption, and bill you only for the actual time it takes, whether remote or on-site.

Who we serve

We work exclusively with businesses across just about every industry throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as northern Miami-Dade County. Most of the companies we support have between 5 and 100 employees. We don’t currently provide residential or home-based business support, simply because our services are built around the needs of established businesses and offices. The exception is work-from-home and remote employees of businesses we already support.

Just a few of the industries we serve include law firms, CPAs and accounting firms, real estate developers, investment partnerships, aviation and aerospace suppliers & dealers, FAA repair facilities, insurance companies, medical and professional offices, general contractors and construction firms, engineering and architecture practices, pharmaceutical and research companies, logistics and transportation companies, communications and media firms, and many more.

What these businesses have in common isn't their industry — it's that they depend on their technology to run, and they need someone they can call who knows their setup, understands their business, and gets things handled without drama.

Our story

Our roots in the technology industry go back to September 1989, when our founder—having grown tired of working on Ataris, Commodores 64s, and ZX Spectrums—decided to venture into more corporate-oriented pastures and began a new chapter in his technical career at a national IBM reseller .

At the time, Microsoft Windows 2.11 was considered cutting-edge, networks ran on Token Ring, file servers were powered by Novell NetWare, and IPX/SNA ruled over TCP/IP. The internet—which would be dubbed as "the information superhighway" in a few years — was nothing more than just a dirt road.

During his tenure at the IBM reseller, he supported IT teams of prominent IBM clients of the era—including 3M, Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Unilever, Hoechst, BASF, Shell Oil, Elf Petrols, Andersen Consulting, Valeo, Volkswagen, Siemens, DuPont and dozens of local businesses.

Timent Technologies founder on the trading floor of a brokerage firm in 1993

Our founder (before falling prey to male pattern baldness) tending to yet another emergency on the trading floor during his tenure at a brokerage firm — circa October 1993. He is the one standing on the right side of the picture.

He later moved from his technical position at the IBM reseller into a senior, yet hands-on role as MIS Director for a securities brokerage with branch offices in eight cities and an annual trading volume of $1.45 billion. There, he managed the company’s entire computer infrastructure, oversaw network expansions, directed and actively took part in day-to-day IT operations in an environment where the stakes were high and the technology had to work—every minute of every day, without exception.

That experience — managing mission-critical systems in a demanding, fast-moving financial environment — shaped the way we approach every client engagement, whether it's a five-person aviation parts supplier, fifty-person investment partnership, or a hundred-person plus law office. We know what it means for a business to depend entirely on its technology, and we treat that responsibility seriously.

In October 1994 we made South Florida home, and began supporting local businesses directly. In April 2000, we snatched the domain name timent.com and Timent (short for Time Enterprises) Technologies was formally incorporated to better serve the growing number of businesses relying on us — and we've been doing exactly that ever since. Over three decades later, majority of the businesses we work with today have been with us since day one, with a particular Pompano Beach accounting firm giving us the privilege to serve them since 1994 (even before we incorporated), an FAA repair station in Miami since 2000, and a Ft. Lauderdale based law office since 2003, just to name a few. This kind of continuity doesn't happen by accident.

Supporting the community

Thousands of people in South Florida live with the constant fear of not being able to feed themselves and their families. Hunger is rampant around the world and South Florida unfortunately is no exception. Timent Technologies is a proud donor to both of these great charities that are making positive impacts in the community. Please visit The Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach and Feeding South Florida and take a step to help families in our area.
